We are so excited to announce that Walker Wilson will be returning as our Head Coach this year for the Pearland Pirates 2023 season! We can’t wait for a great, fun season ahead! Here is a little information about Walker:

Walker started swimming competitively with Pearland Pirates at 5 years old. It was clear from early on that he was a backstroker. After that first summer season, he was ready for more and joined a local USA Swimming club team. Throughout his time in club swimming, he competed in the following higher level meets: TAGS, Sectionals, Zones and Futures

Walker began his high school swimming career with Dawson Aquatics, and earned district champion in the 100 backstroke his sophomore year. During his junior year of high school, he moved with his family to Oklahoma and unfortunately had to sit out a season due to eligibility rules. He came in strong his senior season, helping the team earn its first ever state championship. He also earned gold medals at state for his 100 back and medley relay.

He continued his swimming at the Division 1 level in college at the University of the Pacific.

Walker served as assistant Pirates coach last summer and is excited to be the head coach this summer. Through his 15+ years of competitive swimming, Walker has learned so many important life lessons and he looks forward to sharing his love of the sport with all the swimmers on the team!
