Welcome to our 2022 Pearland Pirate Coaches

HEAD COACH – Walker Wilson

We are so excited to announce that Walker Wilson will be our Head Coach this year for the Pearland Pirates 2022 season! We can’t wait for a great, fun season ahead! Here is a little information about Walker:

Walker started swimming competitively with Pearland Pirates at 5 years old. It was clear from early on that he was a backstroker. After that first summer season, he was ready for more and joined a local USA Swimming club team. Throughout his time in club swimming, he competed in the following higher level meets: TAGS, Sectionals, Zones and Futures

Walker began his high school swimming career with Dawson Aquatics, and earned district champion in the 100 backstroke his sophomore year. During his junior year of high school, he moved with his family to Oklahoma and unfortunately had to sit out a season due to eligibility rules. He came in strong his senior season, helping the team earn its first ever state championship. He also earned gold medals at state for his 100 back and medley relay.

He continued his swimming at the Division 1 level in college at the University of the Pacific.

Walker served as assistant Pirates coach last summer and is excited to be the head coach this summer. Through his 15+ years of competitive swimming, Walker has learned so many important life lessons and he looks forward to sharing his love of the sport with all the swimmers on the team!

Welcome Walker as our Head Coach! Check out one of his Pirates swimming picture when he was little and then all grown up!

ASSISTANT COACH – Reece Comeaux

Meet Reece Comeaux! Reece will be one of our Assistant Coaches for the Pirates 2022 season! Reece, we are so exited to have you on the coaching staff and know you will bring so much knowledge and fun to the practices and meets! Here is a little about Reece:

Reece is excited to be joining the coaching team for Pearland Pirates. He has been swimming with Pirates since he was 5 years old. He is a senior at Dawson and is on the swim and water polo teams. His favorite part of pirates is playing pickle! He will be attending LSU in the fall and studying engineering.

ASSISTANT COACH – Leyton Kraft

Leyton will be another of our Assistant Coaches this year! We are so happy he is here and he might even teach your kids a thing or two about water polo as well!
A little about Leyton…

Leyton is excited to join Pearland Pirates as an Assistant Coach. He has been swimming with Pirates since he was 7 years old. His first pirate season was when he fell in love with swimming. He swam for year round for PEAK for 8 years. He is a senior at Dawson, and is on the varsity swim and water polo team. He will be going to Texas A&M in the Fall to study engineering. He plans to continue playing water polo in college for Texas A&M’s club team.

Let’s talk Pirates team suits! We will be using the same suits we had last year. They are the Speedo Wave Wall, Crossback, Style #7192175 in Blue/Green for girls and Style #7052175 in Blue/Green for boys. Swim Shops of the Southwest said they will be available starting next week! Swim Shops, 9430 Broadway St #144, Pearland, TX.

Please try and have your suits by the first meet on June 4th! Pre-racers can buy a suit if they want to but it is not required.

Does anyone have a gently used suit that no longer fits and is willing to donate to another teammate/swimmer? Please go to our Facebook page where there is a post to let others know if you are looking for a suit or have a suit to give away.

Thanks,

Pearland Swim Board
